Have you seen this video Dove produced? It’s been all over the interwebs the last few weeks but I thought I’d share it here in case you missed it. It really struck a nerve with me; it’s powerful. As I watch my nieces grow, I’m reminded of where we start with beauty and where we end up as an adult. How do you feel about yourself? Did anything change after watching the video? It reminded me that we need to me more kind to ourselves. We’re much too harsh.
P.S. I came upon this parody via Twitter and it’s awesome. I laughed so hard I cried!
Happy Election Day! Will you be watching the returns tonight with baited breath?
If you’re like me, you probably have trouble remembering back to those middle school days when you learned exactly how the electoral college works and why. But have no fear. This awesome TED video explains in a quick, concise way exactly why we do this and how the candidates actually win.
Wow, a whole month has passed since my last blog post. Where did the time go?!
Seriously, I blinked and bam(!) 30 days and nothing new on the BFM Thoughts Blog. I must say, I definitely have missed this space. As you know, I like to be in this space at least one to two times a week. So, you may be wondering, where’s she been? Let’s see…
First, I was blessed with a large client in town for the Democratic National Convention who had me working full-time in the weeks leading up to the event. And as soon as the convention started, I hit the road and went to the beach for a week over Labor Day! It was an incredibly relaxing and very fun week with four other couples. It was so great in fact, that I hope to make this an annual trip.
So that takes us through September 9, now what? Well I just have to blame it on the weather. Fall is officially here in North Carolina and I want nothing more than to be outside on walks, gardening, dining on the patio, reading magazines at the park and enjoying all the activities Charlotte has to offer. It’s truly delightful.
Oh, if you every find yourself stopping by and wondering what’s up, definitely visit Twitter or Instagram. I’m pretty active on both and would love to have you follow along.
I don’t know what happened, but I blinked and it was Monday! Good times were spent with friends, there was the perfect amount of time outside, sprinkled with some gardening and even several hours hudled under a blanket listening to the rain. It seems Mother Nature decided to give us a last hurrah as this morning it was downright chilly!
I have an exciting week filled with my monthly dinner out with girlfriends, book club (we’re discussing The Marriage Plot) and trying to wrap my head around some big personal projects.
Cheers to a wonderful week friends!

Hello! How was your weekend?
I haven’t shared Instagram images in awhile but that’s not to say I haven’t been doing things! In fact, Charlotte has been so beautiful this spring that I’ve been trying to spend as much time outside as possible. (And that means being away from the computer!) I’m loving the flowers, both inside and out, and am trying to dine and hold meetings outside as much as possible. It’s wonderful!
Over the past few weekends, we’ve been making big breakfasts, dining with friends and doing home projects. They’re all taking a lot longer than we anticipated so I don’t have anything fun to share or report. Yet.
Even the decorating I’ve been trying to do is taking forever. Backordered fabric samples, delay in shipping of lamps, items damaged in shipping. Seriously, it’s taking all the fun out of it! Oh well…
I hope you’re having glorious weather where ever you are and are off to a great week!
